A qualified Florida commercial glazier carries five tiers of certification: state contractor license, sealant applicator certification, manufacturer installer certification, OSHA training certification, and specialty certifications (ICRA, FEMA, lead safe). Here is what each one means and how to verify it.
State contractor license
Florida CGC (Certified General Contractor) or CGB (Certified Building Contractor) for full commercial scope. CC-C (Certified Glazing Contractor) for dedicated glazing-only scope. Verify the license at MyFloridaLicense.com. Active status, current renewal, no disciplinary action. ACG holds FL CGC #1531993.
Sealant applicator certification
Structural silicone glazing requires Dow Corning- or Sika-approved applicator certification. Applicator submits sample joints for manufacturer testing; manufacturer issues certification. Required for 10-20 year structural sealant warranty. ACG is an approved applicator for Dow Corning and Sika commercial sealant lines.
Manufacturer installer certification
Kawneer Certified Installer, YKK AP Authorized Installer, Tubelite trained installer, ESWindows certified, Euro-Wall verified installer. Each manufacturer's certification program runs separately. Installer warranty often requires manufacturer certification to be in force at install date. ACG carries direct manufacturer relationships with all five.
OSHA training certification
OSHA-10 minimum for every field employee. OSHA-30 for foremen and supervisors. Documented in personnel files. ACG runs OSHA-10 for all field employees and OSHA-30 for foremen.
Specialty certifications (project-specific)
ICRA Class III/IV documented experience for healthcare occupied-facility install. FEMA P-361 experience for emergency operations centers. EPA Lead-Safe Renovator certification for renovation in pre-1978 commercial buildings.

What's the difference between CGC and CC-C in Florida?
CGC (Certified General Contractor) covers commercial general contractor scope including glazing. CC-C (Certified Glazing Contractor) is specifically for glazing subcontractor scope. ACG holds CGC.
