The Project

The City of Haines City Emergency Operations Center is a purpose-built government facility designed to coordinate emergency response across Polk County. This two-story tilt-wall structure is built to perform when conditions are at their worst — storms, disasters, large-scale emergencies — which means every component of the building envelope, including the glazing, has to meet a higher standard than a typical commercial project.

Government clients don't have flexibility on specs, and they don't have patience for subcontractors who miss schedules. ACG was brought in as the glazing contractor and delivered on both counts.

The Scope

ACG handled the full commercial glazing package for the EOC — storefront systems, entrance assemblies, and all glazing throughout the facility. The project demanded impact-rated and code-compliant systems suited to a government emergency facility in Central Florida, where performance under storm conditions isn't a suggestion, it's a requirement.

The finished building presents a clean, modern institutional exterior — the kind of facility that communicates readiness and permanence. Aldora Glass supplied the glass for this project, and Pirtle Construction managed the overall build with the precision and accountability that municipal work demands.
