The Project

The City of Haines City Public Safety Complex & Emergency Operations Center is a 25,443-square-foot, two-story tilt-wall concrete facility in Haines City, Polk County, Florida. The building consolidates the city's Fire Station #3, police department functions, and a fully-equipped Emergency Operations Center into a single hardened facility — designed to remain operational during the same disaster events the EOC is built to coordinate.

Government clients don't have flexibility on specs, and they don't have patience for subcontractors who miss schedules. ACG was brought in as the glazing contractor and delivered on both counts.

The Scope

ACG installed the impact-rated aluminum storefront glazing package for the EOC — the horizontal storefront band running across the two-story office wing, the punched storefront openings throughout the tilt-wall facade, the primary entry vestibule, and ancillary glazed openings consistent with the building's public safety program. Haines City sits in Polk County (non-HVHZ, non-coastal WBDR), but the Florida Building Code's risk category provisions apply to essential facilities like EOCs statewide, and the glazing was specified to the design pressures appropriate for the facility's occupancy classification.

The finished building presents a clean, institutional exterior with red tilt-wall striping, the bronze “3” numeral on the office block (the building houses Fire Station #3), and a continuous aluminum storefront band that defines the public face of the office wing. Aldora Glass supplied the glass package; Pirtle Construction managed the overall build.

The Team

Built for Pirtle Construction, one of Florida's most respected commercial general contractors, with a portfolio spanning government, education, and institutional builds across the state. Pirtle runs tight schedules and high standards. Aldora Aluminum & Glass Products supplied the glass package. ACG executed the installation scope, start to finish.
