ACG is based in Florida (West Palm Beach HQ; Naples and Tampa offices) and is licensed as FL CGC #1531993. This article is about material packages that leave Florida for another jobsite. It is not a claim that ACG installs nationwide, and it is not legal advice on licensing in other states.
What changes on out-of-state supply
When the delivery point leaves Florida, the logistics layer changes first:
- Freight mode, transit time, and carrier handoffs
- Job-site receiving capacity (forklift, dock, weather protection)
- Who signs the delivery ticket and opens damage claims
- Staging and storage rules if install is weeks after delivery
- Communication path between supplier, GC, and local installer
Cost language on freight should stay qualitative until a dated quote exists for that route. Do not invent carrier rates or lead-time weeks here.
What does not change
- Manufacturer product data and approved configurations still govern the system
- Glass makeup, Low-E, and finish still follow the approved submittal
- Fabrication release still needs approved shops or a written release-at-risk from the buyer on the PO
- Manufacturer product warranty paths still pass through the supply chain as documented
Shipping farther does not change the controlling NOA or product approval. If the destination jurisdiction requires different approvals, that is a specification and AHJ problem, not a freight problem.
Supply geography vs install authority
Keep two sentences on every out-of-state RFQ:
- Material supply: who sells the aluminum and glass, and where it delivers.
- Installation: who is licensed to install in the project jurisdiction.
ACG can discuss material-only packages for projects outside Florida when the commercial terms fit. That does not mean ACG is the installing contractor in that state. Licensing, permitting, and sealed-calc party of record outside Florida are project- and jurisdiction-specific [UNCERTAIN]. Do not assume Florida CGC authority travels with the crate.
For the Florida purchasing-arrangement matrix, see supply-only vs furnish-and-install.
Receiving and jobsite interface
Remote receiving fails when nobody owns the dock. Before the truck rolls, name:
- Delivery address and contact with authority to refuse damaged freight
- Equipment for unloading (forklift capacity, crane if required)
- Dry, level storage until the local installer is ready
- Photo log and shortage / damage process on the day of delivery
A dock drop is not set-in-place. If the PO is FOB plant or destination, read the Incoterms. Title and risk of loss transfer at the point named in the PO, not at substantial completion.
Local approvals and installer interface
Out-of-state GCs still need a clear installer interface:
- Who produces shop drawings and who approves them
- Who field-verifies openings before fabrication release
- Who holds destination-jurisdiction product approvals or stamped calcs when required
- How manufacturer tech support is routed when the installer is not the supplier
Out-of-state supply checklist
TEMPLATE ONLY. Not a project record. Not licensing advice.
| Item | Ready? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Scope line: material-only vs F&I | Y / N | One sentence on the RFQ |
| Delivery city and site constraints | Y / N | Access, hours, equipment |
| Named receiving party | Y / N | GC / distributor / local installer |
| Local installer identified | Y / N | Licensed in project jurisdiction |
| Destination approval path noted | Y / N | Spec / AHJ requirements stated by design team |
| Shop approval before fab release | Y / N | Buyer named on PO |
| Damage / shortage claim window | Y / N | Written on PO / BOL process |
How to ask for the right scope
Send elevations and the opening schedule. Add the delivery city, site access limits, and one sentence: material-only or furnish-and-install. If a local installer will set the work, name that arrangement so freight and tech-support expectations are priced honestly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does shipping out of state mean ACG installs there?
No. Material supply geography and installation licensing are separate. ACG is a Florida CGC. Out-of-state install requires a properly licensed local installer under that jurisdiction. Exact licensing path is project- and state-specific [UNCERTAIN].
What stays the same on an out-of-state material package?
Product data, approved configurations, glass makeup, finish, and manufacturer warranty paths still follow the manufacturer documents and the PO. Freight terms and receiving logistics change more than the aluminum and glass themselves.
Who owns receiving at a remote jobsite?
Usually the buyer named on the PO: GC, distributor, or local installer. The supply PO should name the delivery point, unloading expectations, and damage-claim window.
What should I send for an out-of-state supply quote?
Elevations, the opening schedule, delivery city and site constraints, and one line stating material-only vs furnish-and-install. If install is local to another state, say so up front.
