Partial Turnover on Multi-Building Glazing Jobs:
Inspections, Punch and Records

Building-level acceptance and document control. Not another global project timeline.

Partial Turnover on Multi-Building Glazing Jobs Connor Walsh · 2026-09-12 · /blog/partial-turnover-multi-building-glazing.html

Global phase durations live on the commercial glazing project timeline. This page is building-level partial turnover control.

Why partial turnover needs its own tracker

Campus and multi-building schedules often occupy Building A while Building C is still in fabrication. If punch and closeout wait for the last building, early buildings enter service without complete records, and warranty start logic gets fuzzy.

TEMPLATE ONLY. Multi-building glazing turnover tracker. Not a project record. Not a statutory inspection checklist.

Inspection and punch sequence

  1. Define what "building complete" means for glazing (all openings, or a named phase).
  2. Hold a building-level inspection with the GC and design team as required by the contract.
  3. Close punch items that affect weatherproofing before owner occupancy of that building.
  4. Carry cosmetic items on a dated list with responsibility and access notes.
  5. Do not mix Building A punch into Building C's list without clear labels.

Records that must not wait

  • Approved shop drawings for that building's configurations
  • Product-approval documents for installed systems
  • Condition photos and punch clearance
  • Warranty documents indexed to the building
  • Facilities asset-register rows for that building

How to ask for phased turnover

State the building release sequence at bid time. Send the campus schedule and opening counts by building. ACG: (772) 486-7711. FL CGC #1531993.

Frequently Asked Questions

How should multi-building glazing jobs handle partial turnover?

Track inspection, punch, as-builts, and warranties per building. Do not wait for campus-wide completion to file early-building records.

Is this the same as a global project timeline?

No. The timeline article covers phases. This page covers building-level acceptance and document control.

When do warranties start on a partial turnover?

Follow the contract and manufacturer terms. Do not assume a single campus-wide start date without written confirmation.

What should a GC send for phased glazing turnover planning?

Building release sequence, opening counts by building, and whether early buildings will be occupied before later buildings complete.
