American Commercial Glass started on Florida's Treasure Coast. That's where we built our first projects, learned our trade, and earned our reputation. But Florida doesn't stand still. And neither do we.
Where We Started
ACG's roots are in the Treasure Coast — Martin, St. Lucie, and Indian River counties. We built our early reputation on commercial projects along the coast and in the inland communities of the Treasure Coast. Our first office was in West Palm Beach, and that's still our headquarters.
We grew by doing the work right. Not by chasing the lowest-priced bids. Not by promising what we couldn't deliver. By showing up, turning scopes in 48 hours, and installing to spec. GCs talk. Word got around.
Within a few years, GCs from Miami to Fort Myers were calling. We expanded to serve the full South Florida market. Then came the call from Naples.
The Move to Naples
Southwest Florida's commercial market was growing fast. Naples and Fort Myers had a pipeline of hospitality, luxury retail, and medical construction that needed a reliable glazing sub with commercial-grade capability. The GCs working there kept running into the same problem: the local shops weren't equipped for complex scopes, and the big Miami contractors weren't interested in driving three hours for a mid-size retail project.
We opened our Naples office to fill that gap. Same model as West Palm — local crews, local supply relationships, full scope capability. It worked. We built a strong book of Southwest Florida work.
Then GCs started asking us about Tampa. Learn more about our company history and team.
Why Tampa — The Honest Answer
The answer is simple: Tampa is the fastest-growing commercial construction market in Florida right now. And GCs we'd built relationships with over years of Treasure Coast and Southwest Florida work were expanding into Tampa. They wanted us to come with them.
Tampa Bay has three things happening at once. A massive urban development push — Water Street, Midtown, the downtown core. A suburban explosion — Wesley Chapel, Brandon, Riverview, Land O Lakes. And a hospitality and medical boom tied to the region's population growth and the expansion of the major health systems.
The combined pipeline across Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties is larger, by project count, than anything we'd seen in our home markets. And the glazing sub landscape in Tampa was thin on commercial-grade operators. Residential glass shops trying to do commercial work. Out-of-town subs with no local presence. The gap was obvious.
We decided to fill it the right way — with a real office, real local crews, and the same operational model we'd proven in West Palm and Naples.
What the Tampa Office Actually Means for GCs
Here's the practical difference between a glazing sub with a Tampa office and one without.
Same-day site visits. When you call at 8am with a field question, we're there before noon. Not tomorrow. Not next week. The job doesn't wait and neither do we.
Local permit relationships. Hillsborough County's building department has its own permit processes, its own inspectors, and its own documentation preferences. We've pulled permits here. We know the reviewers. Our submittal packages are built for this county's requirements — not adapted from a Miami template.
Local supply chain. When a delivery goes sideways, local supply relationships matter. We don't have to wait for a truck from Fort Lauderdale. We can source locally to keep your schedule moving.
Faster response, always. The 48-hour scope turnaround we're known for works because our team is tuned to this market. We know Tampa Bay product approval requirements. We know the wind exposure categories. We can price a scope accurately without starting from scratch each time.
The Tampa Bay Market We Serve
Our Tampa office covers the full three-county metro:
Hillsborough County — Downtown Tampa, South Tampa, Ybor City, the Channel District, Brandon, Riverview, and all points in between. This is where most of the urban high-rise and mixed-use work is concentrated. Visit our Tampa commercial glazing page for the full scope of what we do here.
Pinellas County — Clearwater and St. Petersburg are both active commercial markets. St. Pete's waterfront development has been one of the market's bright spots for the last several years. Clearwater's medical and retail corridors are consistently busy.
Pasco County — Wesley Chapel is the growth story of the decade. The SR-54/56 corridor has more commercial square footage under construction per mile than almost anywhere in Florida. GCs active there have told us they couldn't find a local glazing sub with the commercial capability to handle their scopes. We can.

What Comes Next
We're not done growing. The Florida commercial market is still expanding, and we follow the work. But right now, the Tampa office is where we're focused. We want to become the glazing sub that Tampa Bay GCs default to — the call they make first, knowing they'll get a scope back fast and the work done right.
If you're building in Tampa Bay and need a glazing sub who's actually here, we'd like to talk. Send your plans to [email protected] or reach us at (772) 486-7711.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does ACG have a physical Tampa office or just coverage from another city?
ACG has a dedicated Tampa Bay office with local field crews and local supply relationships. We are not dispatching from West Palm Beach or Naples. When a GC in Tampa needs a site visit, we're there the same day or next morning — not scheduling a three-hour drive from South Florida.
What counties does ACG's Tampa office cover?
ACG's Tampa office covers the full Tampa Bay metro: Hillsborough County (Tampa, South Tampa, Brandon, Riverview), Pinellas County (Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Largo, Dunedin), and Pasco County (Wesley Chapel, New Tampa, Land O Lakes, Lutz). We also extend into Hernando and Manatee counties on larger projects.
How do I get a scope from ACG's Tampa office?
Send your plans to [email protected] or submit through our contact page. Our Tampa team returns a detailed scope — system recommendations, quantities, and Division 08 scope breakdown — within 48 hours. You can also use our Scope Engine for an instant preliminary estimate before sending full plans.
